Starcraft Zerg Strategy - 6-pool All-in Rush  | read this item

This is probably one of the cheesiest Starcraft 2 builds that the SC2 Zerg are capable of.  It is also one of the riskiest.  You either win or lose as it takes every bit of resource from your economy and places it in the attack.  If you lose, it is extreme difficult to comeback.  The Starcraft 2 Zerg 6 pool build requires a few things to go right in order to have a shot at winning.

First, there is no scouting with this build, so it becomes most effective in a 2-player map.  Your Zerg Overlord will not clear the space between bases in time to scout and you need all your drones gathering minerals non-stop till the rush attack.  In a 4+ player map, you will need to rely on a bit of luck as each time your send your rush against the wrong starting point means that it is more and more likely the forces you’ll face will defeat you.

Second, this strategy will fail if your opponent creates a wall with their buildings.  The time that it will take your zerglings to break the wall means your opponent will have the means to defeat the rush.  You need to be able to reach the mineral line if you want to finish off the game.  Now, let’s deal with the build.

Zerg 6-pool All-in Rush:

  • 6/10 Spawning Pool
  • 5/10 Drone
  • When Spawning Pool Completes, produce 3 pairs of Zerglings
  • Send 1 drone to create spine crawler if opponent is Zerg.
  • 9/10 Zergling

At the completion of your build, select every unit you control and send them all to your opponent’s main.  This includes all of your drones.  At this point, there’s no turning back.

As soon as you reach your opponent’s base, you’ll need to identify the most threatening targets.  This means any attack units need to be dropped ASAP.  When you identified the most dangerous units, send your Zerglings after them first to complete the surround.  Use your drones to distract any other units.  You may opt to just send your drones into the mineral line to soften up their havesters.

When all of the attack units are dead, simply move your Zerglings into the mineral line and let them finish up.  If you’ve made it this far, you’ve won.  Congratulations.

Instead of going all in, I mostly build “pool-drone-overlord” and then train Zerglings. This way you can keep sending reinforcements, and can turn back if you screw things up. Also, instead of engaging the workers directly, you just make them follow you, and destroy what they try to build.
