*Spoiler Warning: Match Results will be revealed in this story*
Jeon, Young-Soo (LotzePrime) Protoss vs Kim, Tae-Hwan (NEXLiveForever) Terran
Game 1 Delta Quadrant
The game opens up with LotzePrime taking up the northwest base while NEXLiveForever started in the northeast base. Nothing out of the ordinary for these players to start with. NEXLiveForever begins his early game going with a 2 Raxx build. Loses his scout before learning about Lotze’s build into Robotics.
An early Marine/Marauder rush pushes past the first ramp defense line. Four Terran Marines and a Marauder pushing in against a Sentry and two Stalkers. The push makes it deep into Lotze’s base without much damage on either side and an eventual defend.
NEXLiveForever begin to work on his Starbase while Lotze began a chronoboosted Colossus. NEXLiveForever attempted a drop, but had to bail on the approach before almost losing his Medivac. Minor skirmishes continue for a couple minutes without a major engagement.
An aborted expand by Lotze is canceled when NEXLiveForever began a main push with Vikings plus a Marine/Marauder/Medivac ball. The two armies engage but don’t fully commit allowing NEXLiveForever to run a contain on LotzePrime.
Lotze does break the contain from an overhold of the contain. An army of Colossus, Immortals, and Stalkers break the MMM ball and Viking army to re-establish map balance. Lotze then establishes his expansion and engages LiveForever again. Lotze does lose his Colossus in the exchange but wins the skirmish.
A push from LiveForever nearly takes out Lotze’s expansion but pulls back too early, leaving the Nexus with very little health but still alive. Lotze does push back the force and continues to build.
With a distraction drop against Lotze’s main, LiveForever pushes into Lotze’s expansion. The push is again defended but not without loses too much economy.
GG from LotzePrime giving NEXLiveForever the win.
Game 2 Lost Temple
LotzePrime begins in the upper-right base with NEXLiveForever begins in the lower-left base. Standard start builds with scouts. Lotze does mis-macro and loses a Probe to an SCV. At the same time, LiveForever pushes a proxy factory into Lotze’s base with a small bunker push for a pincer maneuver. Lotze does defend and pushes the factory out but does lose a few Probes.
LiveForever techs into Banshees and pushes into Probe harass. A final move that forces a GG from Lotze. A quick and aggressive strategy from LiveForever for the win.
Kwak, Han-Eul (MaKaPrime) Terran vs Kim, Gyeong-Su (LegalMind) Protoss
Game 1 Delta Quardrant
MaKaPrime beings in the northwest base and LegalMind in the southwest. Standard builds with a wall-in from MaKaPrime. Marine build pushes the Probe scout from the Terran base. MaKa does create a proxy second barracks in the gold expansion. 4/1 Marine/Marauder push against a single forcefield. Terran reinforcements prevents the withdrawl as LegalMind falls behind in army. Despite some very good forcefield placement, the force differential is too great.
Some key targeting mistakes from LegalMind allows Bunker placements in his base which is the eventual cause of his defeat.
GG from LegalMind.
Game 2 Metalopolis
MaKaPrime begins the western base with LegalMind in the northern base. MaKa walls off his main locking out LegalMind’s scout. A marine pushes the scout away. The SCV scout continues to poke around the Protoss base. An odd build emerges from MaKa with bunkers showing a much more defensive stance compared to the previous game.
LegalMind uses MaKa’s defensive stance to establish an expansion before moving into Robo tech. Maka does expand out with bunker reinforcment.
A push from LegalMind is easily defend and MaKa pushes back with a counterattack. A Ghost moves in for a Nuke that forces the Protoss to commit in to prevent it’s landing. The commit does force the Protoss army into a small Marine/Marauder balls. A series of quick kills leads to a GG from LegalMind.
Be sure to stay tuned for the report from the rest of the series later today.
