Starcraft Protoss Strategy – Beating Corruptors

Starcraft Protoss Strategy - Beating Corruptors  | read this item

These units are the core of an advanced Zerg anti-air army.  Their acid causes a significant debuff making their targets take addition damage.  They’ll lay waste to Void Rays, Phoenixes, Carriers, and even Motherships if not handled.  Luckily, they do have a few disadvantages you can use in order to beat them.

The biggest disadvantage is that the Zerg Corruptor is only capable of dealing air-to-air damage.  This makes the unit particularly vulnerable to ground based units that are capable of dealing damage to air units.  Let’s take a look at what the Protoss can dish out to counter a group of Corruptors.

Your Best Bets:

There are a couple of units you can use that will make quick work of Corruptors.  First there is the Stalker.  This are your fast mobile ground units.  Corruptors are unable to attack them and Stalkers deal bonus damage against the enemy’s armor status.  If the unit attempts to escape from them over obstacles or over cliffs, their Blink ability will allow them to keep pace and finish the kill.

Another unit that is effect is the Void Ray.  While it is susceptible to the Corruptor’s abilities, it is able to deal out a significant amount of damage when focused.  This is probably your best bet if you’re running an air heavy army.

Other Options:

Other units that are capable of taking on Corruptors include any of the air units in addition to Photon Cannons, Sentries and Archons.

Who is your champion against mass Corruptors?
